Yes, in several ways, there more details here, but for a quick answer:

  1. Because Fiori Apps are not given a function to use for uploading new documents to an external ArchiveLink repository, (Unless you deploy SAP DMS which only supports a subset of Business objects and is expensive to implement), we offer a “plug-in” Fiori Content Service.
  2. The Fiori Content Service for AL_ACS can be used within your Fiori App, or set-up as a ribbon or sidebar service. It also includes the ability to support advanced search for documents based on their meta data tags.
  3. We offer a CMIS adapter to Azure Blob Storage

YES!

A Cloud Services Platform (CSP) is essentially a complete modularized platform to ingest, manage, create, process, produce, organize, track, and store business documents and other unstructured business-related content. The most future forward Content Services Platforms are cloud-native, scaling easily and efficiently to the needs of even the largest enterprises.

AL_ACS, as an Azure add-in, provides a whole series of interoperability services that intelligently allows Azure and the Power Platform to be used as a full services CSP for SAP ERPs.

Our SF_CCS solution is an extension to AL_ACS that adds a SuccessFactors DCM API Interface alongside the ArchiveLink Content Service. The result is a single unified content repository that holds documents from both systems. Typically, this may be a requirement when users in  both the ERP and HXM systems need access to employee files in support of their respective business activities tied to employee records, such as payroll, EH&S, CATS, HCM, etc.

A Common Store eliminates the need for duplicate repositories and the requirement to keep them synchronized, it improves user productivity with single click access to files, and allows for enhanced governance and compliance when it comes to enterprise personnel files.

Neither SAP S/4 HANA nor ECC include a complete solution set to support all the potential business drivers for  a comprehensive ECM that includes a content processing platform also. Additionally, moving a S4/HANA or ECC system to the cloud presents challenges if enterprises want to take their content along also.

There are many different facets and considerations to understand, such as, not all content service functions in the core ERP are available to SAP BTP and Fiori, for instance. S/4 HANA memory is expensive yet the default function for saving attachments is to store them there.

Our eBook gives you an overview of the business needs to consider, existing technology gaps, financial impacts and items to consider when determining an optimum path forward with a “ECM Transformation” initiative. eBook: Content Enabling S4/HANA, BTP & Fiori
